Amanda Pasbrich and Family lit a candleDearest Fred, My uncle of the heart! We only met a few times but from my chats with you I saw the "Rosa trademark light" as my mom would say. A man of strong and brave faith, the type of man most wish to be. Mom has so many amazing memories of you on Mutti's farm and she always has a smile when she tells me those stories as does my aunt each time we speak of you. Omie and Opa are thankful for the years with you those can never be taken. Give everybody a hug from us and tell them we miss them dearly, daily and deeply. We love you! Meet you at the Crossroads one day I hope I find you there with a good brandy and a good book. John Bush posted a condolenceI was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Rosa’s passing. He was one of the good guys in the world. Mr. Rosa was one of the nicest people I have ever met and I had the greatest respect for him. He was the type of man who would help anyone. Mr. Rosa and his family were good family friends. I remember Mr. Rosa and my father sharing so many laughs together. I can still hear them laughing in my mind. He coached hockey and baseball. Mr. Rosa was my baseball coach for a couple of years. I am smiling as I write this. I remember him saying to me, “You know John, you will not be able to catch the ball if you are looking so high into the sky”. I was a bit of a dreamer. Mr. Rosa was an incredibly patient man. Doug, Wendy, Gayle and family, please accept my condolences. We miss you Mr. Rosa

Linda Luke posted a condolenceLes and Linda met Fred and Gayle at a German beer festival in FL. How perfect to share a table and end up being friends. We have many happy memories of visiting the Rosas in Punta Gorda. Fred liked sharing drinks by the pool, enjoying P. G.'s Gallery Walk (now Alive at Five), then returning to the park for the jam sessions by local musicians. Fred really liked the older, folksy type of arrangements/songs. We spent time together on his boat, always a treat. We spent time at the Lexington cottage, including concerts on the hill in town. Rosas said you must join us for Christmas on the beach when they learned we'd be in Florida in Dec. We still do that, but missing Fred now. Our favorite memory of Fred is taking a trip into the Everglades and spending a couple nights playing euchre and swatting mosquitoes. We even had an alligator join us for lunch much to Gayle's dismay. Ah, yes, we will miss Fred's smile and that twinkle in his eye. And we will remember the handsome railroad conductor who conducted himself with integrity, patience, and charm, always looking out for his fellow man. Yes, rest in peace, Fred. You deserve it.

My favourite Uncle - sad to see you go, but I will always cherish the special times we shared together especially in my younger years. Back on Altona Road when I was a toddler I flushed your watch down the toilet by accident...and years later on Mutti and Opa's farm when I was a teenager, we debated hot and controversial topics, while enjoying family gatherings on special occasions. I remember and will miss your twinkling eyes, warm hearted smile and kind words most of all!
Give a hug to Mom, Dad, Mutti and Opa for me.

Hi Fred - it's Tom.
Crossroads - every one will come to them. Now that you have taken the last train out - only you and God know the destination. But I'm sure you already know that. Firstly, a good man raised a good family - took care of all the things that had to be taken care of. From your good teachings I see it in Wendy and her family - a lot of good washed up in them...I only met Doug couple times but hope to see him soon. If he's anything like Wendy -they are both blessed.

Dave Bush uploaded photo(s)Mr. Rosa was one of the kindest and friendliest men I have ever known. From picking me up from across town for a 6am hockey game to managing the numerous Ajax hockey and baseball teams Doug and I were a part of. He always made me feel like part of the family. I may as well have lived at the Rosa residence. After his retirement, I didn't see as much of him, but I still cherish the memories and time I spent in the Rosa household. He was a 2nd father to me. Miss you, rest in peace.

We have so many happy memories of your family in Ajax and spending many hours with Fred at ball games. He was always a lot of fun & enjoyed working with the kids & watching them compete in sports.
He will be missed but we will always remember that lovely smile - Rest In Peace Fred!
