Gary Cox's Obituary
Gary D. Cox August 15, 1943 – August 10, 2021 Gary D. Cox, age 77 of Blanchard, passed peacefully into Eternal Life at his home on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Funeral services will take place at 12 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Wambolt Cemetery in Remus. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Saturday preceding the funeral service, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Gary was born August 15, 1943, in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of James and Donna (Randall) Cox. He married his high school sweetheart, Carrol Karcher, in November 1962. Gary and Carrol resided in Remus for a few years before making their home in Blanchard. Gary retired as a Process Engineer from Dow Chemical after 30+ years of loyal service. In his retirement years, he served his community as Millbrook Township trustee, Decker Cemetery sexton, and a member of the Remus Area Historical Society. In his personal time, Gary enjoyed many interests including golf, bowling, hunting, and beekeeping. Above all, Gary loved and valued the time spent with his family. Whether a family celebration, combing the beach for the largest shark’s tooth, or introducing a grandchild to life that hops or crawls in the grass, all time with loved ones was special to him. Left to cherish Gary’s memory are his wife, Carrol Cox of Blanchard; daughters, Victoria Cox, Paula Beshouri, Anne (Jeff) Kea; sons, Douglas (Sirena) Cox, Darcey (Katherine) Cox; grandchildren, Cody (Megan) Bott, Trae (Kelli) Bott, Paul (Lauren Davies) Beshouri, Marie Beshouri, Jack Kea, Natalie Kea, Eli Kea, Sydney (Andrew DiCapo) Cox, Bennett Cox, Sophia Cox; great-grandchildren, Tenley Bott, Beckham Bott, Rhys Bott; sister, Debra (James) Burandt; many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and extended family in South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents James N. and Donna M. Cox. Gary was an honest and gentle man, and his life’s story is filled with acts of kindness and generosity.
