Gary Lee Thornsbury's Obituary
Gary Lee Thornsbury, age 67, passed away October 23, 2022 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Gary was born January 5, 1955 in Jolo, West Virginia, to Will and Diane Thornsbury.Gary served in the United States Army as a 325th Infantry 82nd Airborne Division. Gary received the National Defense service medal along with the Parachutist Badge. After the army Gary obtained his Associates / Applied Science Degree in Coal Mining Technology, from Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. After completing his degree, he ended up in the Oil and Gas Industry as a driller. Gary moved to Michigan and found work in the environmental field as a driller. Eventually starting his own drilling company.After Gary retired from his successful business he enjoyed many activities with family and friends. Golfing, hunting and fishing with his buddies and many activities of the family farm, especially looking for morel mushrooms. Gary's ability to capture the essence of his many life adventures in story telling was enjoyed by many.Gary`s generous heart and giving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew him.No services are planned at this time.
