Genevieve Mae Troupe's Obituary
Genevieve Mae (Waite) Troupe, age 93, went to her Heavenly Home on July 27, 2025, with family beside her. Genny as she liked to be called, was born on March 24, 1932, to Jesse and Esther (Dow) Waite in Big Rapids. On December 30, 1950, she married the only man she ever loved, Franklin Troupe. They were married almost 60 years and together they raised 5 children in a loving Christian home. Genny was always a wife and mother first in her life but was employed outside of their home occasionally at the Demins factory in Big Rapids, Pickle Docks in Lakeview and Kitson Chicken Farm in Howard City. The family attended Brockway Wesleyan Church where Genny served in the nursery caring for babies for over 45 years. She also ran a day care from her home in Howard City.Genny is survived by her son, Albert Troupe of Grand Rapids; daughter, Francine Woolworth of Lakeview; son-in-law; Bruce Burghduf of Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Terri Vining, Lori (Gary) Sturdavant, Jennifer (Shawn) Lambert, Dannie (Jeb) Rutledge, Jamie (Stacey) Parker, Arthur (Kristina) Troupe, BJ Burghduf, Lacy (Arron) Franklin, Lexee Troupe, John Asbell; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandsons; sisters, Caroline Sinclair, Janice Moon, Joyce (Roger) Sage; sister-in-law, Susan Waite; many nieces, nephews and large extended family. As Genny would say, "Too many to count".Genevieve was a very loving, caring Christian woman who will be missed by her family and all who were blessed to know her.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Franklin in 2010; sons, Art and Frank; daughter, Esther Burghduf; granddaughter, Savanah; sisters, Alice Waite, Kay Boone, Adeline Williams, Audrey Clemens; brothers, Jesse, James, Russell and Delwyn Waite.Funeral services for Genevieve will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Brockway Wesleyan Church in Morley with Pastor Jeff Lemire officiating. Interment will follow at Grant Center Cemetery in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends for visitation on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview and again on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of service at the church.In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions in Genny's memory be made to Brockway Wesleyan Church, 10951 3 Mile Rd., Morley, MI 49336 or Hospice of Michigan (forms are available at www.hom.org)
