George Morgan Timiney Jr's Obituary
George Morgan Timiney Jr., age 89, of Lakeview, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, George will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
George, affectionately known as “Bud,” was born on August 15, 1936, in Monroe, Michigan, to George Travis and Marjorie Adeline (Morgan) Timiney. One of six children, he moved with his family to Six Lakes as a child. He attended Lakeview High School through the 10th grade before beginning a life of hard work, helping support his family through farm labor.
In Lakeview, George met the love of his life, Virginia “Ginnie” Marlene Skinner. They were united in marriage on June 22, 1956, by Rev. Fetty at Asbury Methodist Church in Lakeview. Together they shared 63 years of marriage filled with love, faith, family, and devotion until Ginnie’s passing in 2019. Lakeview remained their cherished home throughout their lives together.
George dedicated 39 years of service to Federal-Mogul Corporation in Greenville, retiring in 1993. Beyond his work, he found his greatest joy in time spent with family, especially in the outdoors. An avid hunter, Bud earned the affectionate nickname “The Buckmaster” among family and friends for his remarkable success in whitetail deer hunting. Many treasured memories were made at the family farm near Lake Montcalm and at the hunting property in Luther, lovingly known as “Belly Acres.”
Above all, Bud cherished his family. He is survived by his children, Marcia Gorman (Rob Korn) of Otisville and Danny (Michelle) Timiney of Plainwell; eight grandchildren, Shannon (Chris) Kozak, Andrew Gorman, Morgan (Caroline) Timiney, Brittany Gorman, Katelin Timiney (Garrick Dooley), Aaron Macomber, Jakob Kibiloski (Jessi Livingston), and Jason Korn; and eight great-grandchildren, Kaydin, Sydnee, Sawyer, Kingston, Presley, Levi, Nova, and Brayden.
He is also survived by his brother, Michael (Linda) Timiney; sister, Kathleen Hagstrom; brother-in-law, Larry (Deanna) Skinner; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia; daughter, Cindy (Ed) Macomber; his parents; brother, Robert (Norma) Timiney; sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Gordon (Dean) and Marjorie “Bonnie” Timiney; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
A Celebration of Life honoring both George and Virginia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the United Church of Christ in Lakeview. A luncheon will immediately follow the service, with interment afterward at Lakeview Cemetery.
The family invites those wishing to share condolences or memories to do so through the guestbook at Janowicz Family Funeral Chapel.
