Glen "Pappy" Davy's Obituary
Glen "Pappy" Davy, 84, passed away on June 25, 2016 at his home in Altona, MI with family at his side. Pappy was born in Dundee, MI to Harold Davy and Flossy Hunt on March 3, 1932. He grew up in Weidman area as a child. He was united in marriage to Cora Ashton on April 8, 1950 in Ann Arbor, MI. They owned Davy's Corner Restaurant and Gas Station in Morley, MI from 1969-1973. Pappy worked for Stilson's Concrete out Morley until he retired in 1997. He also retired out from the BAC Local 2. Pappy enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking playing cards and gardening. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Pappy will be missed dearly.
Pappy is survived by his sons; Daniel "Skip" and wife Sharon Davy from Altona, MI and Mike and wife Deb Boswell from Ohio, daughter in-law; Teresa Davy and brother in-law Alvin Holcomb. 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pappy is preceded in death by wife Cora E. Davy, son Rick A. Davy, 2 great grandsons, 6 sisters, 6 brothers, and his parents.
Funeral Services for Pappy will take place Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM from Brigham Funeral Chapel, Lakeview, MI with Pastor Cooper to officiate. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 5-8PM and Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at Brigham Funeral Chapel-Lakeview. Burial to follow in the Altona Cemetery. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider the wishes of the Davy family c/o Skip Davy.
