Glenda L. Kilbourne Tossey's Obituary
Big Rapids Glenda L. Kilbourne Tossey, 75, of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, May 05, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 20, 1934, in Stanwood, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1952. Glenda lived in the area most of her life, and for nearly 35 years, she worked for Central Michigan Bank & Trust in Big Rapids, retiring as Head Bookkeeper. She was a long time active member of the Northland United Methodist Church in Stanwood, and formerly served as church treasurer. Glenda was also a member of the Young at Heart Club, and the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, and crocheting. Glenda is survived by three sons, Cary (Laurie) Kilbourne, Kenneth (Merinda) Kilbourne, and Tim Kilbourne, all of Stanwood; 5 grandchildren, Cary II, Danielle, Kyle, Zachary, and Kennedy; 5 great-grandchildren, Ashton, Brooke, Jalen, DaQuan, and Samaura; a brother Owen Oliver of Stanwood; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend Ruth Stout of Stanwood. Glenda was preceded in death by her mother Ellen Oliver, and 2 brothers, Richard and Lynn Oliver. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Northland United Methodist Church in Stanwood, with Rev. Dominic Tommy officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Stanwood. Memorial contributions for her church or Hospice of Michigan may be left at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, where Glendas family will greet friends on Friday, May 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the church after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
