Glenn LeRoy Jefts' Obituary
Big Rapids Glenn LeRoy Jefts, 90, of Big Rapids passed away Friday, November 19, 2010. He was born February 10, 1920 in Big Rapids, the son of John G. and Erma Jefts. Glenn is survived by his wife of seventy years, Marion,children; Larry (Louise) Jefts of Kunia, Hawaii, Duane (Cathy) Jefts of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, John (Cinda) Jefts of Stanwood, Paul (Denise) Jefts of Big Rapids, 16 grandchildren; Lisa (Michael) Edgar, Jonathan (Stefanie) Jefts, Laura (Tim) Canup, Joseph Jefts, Jennifer (Nathan) Byrd, Katie Jefts, Susan (Aaron) Felske, Jill (Ted) Pahn, Brian Jefts, Karen Jefts, Carl (Tasia) Jefts, Lynne Jefts, Steven Kenward, Stacey (Tom) McAlarney, Taylor Reschka, Alaina Reschka, ten great grandchildren, two sisters; Gloria (Kenneth) Anderson, Shirley Johnson plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Carol Reschka and one brother-in-law, Duane Johnson. Also, preceding Glenn were brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Marge Wilber, Pierce Wilber, Peter and Gladys Katke. Glenn retired in 1982 after 28 years with ARN Pipeline, formerly Austin Field. The joy of his life was farming on the family farm. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards and The Buckley Old Engine Show, especially with his family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Dean Prentiss officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Big Rapids First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Pine Plains Cemetery.
