Grace E. Pedersen's Obituary
Alma Grace E. Pedersen, 85, formerly of Paris, Michigan went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Masonic Pathways Home in Alma. She was born September 20, 1924 in Ludington, Michigan daughter of Marion and Esther (Bocher) Gillespie. On September 7, 1946 she married her husband of 60 years, William E. Pedersen who preceded her in death in 2006.Grace had been active with the United Methodist Women and a member of the church her entire adult life. She had also been a member of the Big Rapids Order of the Eastern Star.Surviving is one daughter Carol (Robert) Austin of Elwell, and one sister Winifred Balavitch of Ludington. Also surviving are 2 granddaughters, Bobbi (Joe) Moore of Gaylord and Billie (Ryan) Hetherington of Edmore, 3 great grandchildren, Ethan and Brooke Hetherington and Gabriel Moore, plus special friends (like family) Mike and Holly Elliott and their three children, Blake, Lindsay and Ashley. Besides her husband, Grace was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Donna Balavitch. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Rev. Michael Riegler of Paris United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Park Hill Cemetery. Memorials in Graces memory may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
