Gwendolyn "Gwen" Bell Starks' Obituary
Lakeview-Gwendolyn "Gwen" Bell Starks, age 79, of Howard City, Ml with her family by her side, fell asleep on earth and leaving her body behind, while she transitioned in the Presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Gwen was born at the family home in Remus, Ml on March 3, 1941, the daughter of Clenard and Opal (Shedell) Starks. She was raised in the Remus area and graduated from Barryton High School with her best friend Iris and the class of 1960. Gwen was employed at the Michigan Home for Veterans in Grand Rapids for 25 years and then at Leppinks in Howard City for 19 years before her retirement in 2012. Gwen enjoyed Bible studies and Church activities, reading books, her flowers, plants and gardening. She was a member of the Cowden Lake Bible Church. Gwen's love and dependence on Jesus carried her through many trials and struggles. Yet her faith in her Lord and Savior grew beyond measure and never wavered. She was a light unto her world and inspired all she encountered.
Gwen is survived by her brother, Steven (Nancy) Starks of Coopersville; her sisters-in-law, Gladys Starks of Coopersville and Marie Starks of Six Lakes; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was pre ceded in death by her parents, Clenard and Opal; and 3 brothers, Robert, Phillip and Wendall Starks.
Gwen's Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cowden Lake Bible Church 4481
N. Black Rd, Coral Mi 49322 on Saturday, August 1, 2020. 10am Family visitation, 11am Celebration of Life Service. Memorial contributions may be given to Cowden Lake Bible Church. Condolences to the family may be made by utilizing the guestbook at www.brighamfunera lchapel.com
