Harold Howard Jehnzen's Obituary
Rodney- Harold H. Jehnzen, 86, of Rodney, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Royal View Retirement Community in Canadian Lakes.
He was born September 15, 1932, in Detroit, the son of Howard and Harriet (Parrow) Jehnzen. Harold moved with his family to Rodney as a child, and graduated from Mecosta High School in 1950. During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Army.
Following his discharge, Harold returned to the area, and on June 11, 1955, he married the love of his life, JoAnn Adams. For several years, Harold worked with his father at Jehnzen & Son Farm Equipment in Rodney. He then began his career with Consumers Power, working for over 30 years until retiring in 1993. For 20 years, Harold and Jo Ann wintered in Lake Havasu, AZ.
Harold was a longtime member of Meceola Country Club, the Mecosta County Rod & Gun Club, and Big Rapids Aerie Eagles #2535.
Harold is survived by Jo Ann; their children Lynn (Matt) Bridges and Mark (Stacey)Jehnzen, both of Pagosa Springs, CO and Greg (Laura) Jehnzen of Mecosta; 6 grandchildren, Stacey, Kelly, Jack, Megan, Kyle, and Katie; 11 great-grandchildren, (with one more on the way); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by their daughter Lori Lee, and 2 sisters, Jean Nelson and Sue Metcalf.
A Celebration of Harold's life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019, with the time and place to be determined.
