Harriett "Aunt Maxine" (Chase) Blake's Obituary
Harriett "Aunt Maxine" (Chase) Blake, age 99, of Lakeview, MI, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Lakeview Terrace Assisted Living. She was born February 15, 1917 in Corunna, MI, the daughter of Raymond and Aggie (Frain) Chase. She was raised in Corunna and attended Williamston and Corunna Public Schools graduating Class of 1935. Maxine married the love of her life Bradley "Uncle Dirk" Blake on July 13, 1940 in Owosso, MI. She was employed as a Secretary for Redmond Motor Company in Owosso for over twenty-nine years. In the early 1980ies Maxine and Bradley decided to relocate to Townline Lake in Lakeview, MI for their retirement. She was a very active lady. Her hobbies included bowling, fishing, golfing, camping, snowmobiling, but loved her large family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bradley Blake; her parents Raymond and Aggie Chase; one brother William Chase; and one sister Evelyn Wickware. She will be missed by four nieces Michele "Micki" (Ken) Baker of Lakeview, Maxine "Toot" (John) Horvath of Plainwell, Zella Weiland of Hillman, and Ethel (Carr) Baldwin; one nephew Brad (Lyndi) Chase of Florida; and five generations of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions in Maxine's memory may be made to Lakeview Terrace 9494 Paden Rd, Lakeview, MI 48850. She lived under their caring and loving care and with the wonderful support of Hospice. A Celebration of Maxine's Life will be announced at a later date.
