Heather Lea Hayes' Obituary
Lakeview- We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Heather Lea Hayes, 82, on Oct 16, 2022. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving children. Heather was born May 1,1940 to Hampton and Ida Hayes (Morse) in Saginaw, MI. She became a talented singer and piano player and studied music at Marywood Academy. She married young and had five children. In 1975, Heather returned to school at Grand Rapids Junior College, where she won a Hopwood Award and a scholarship for her creative writing. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1982, she pursued a successful career in Human Resources at various VA hospitals. She was known for her abiding faith in Christ, as well as her love of conversation, reading, writing, gardening and investing in the stock market. Right up to the end, her mind and sense of humor stayed keen,Heather is survived by her five children, Michele Marcell, James Krakowski, Job (Travis) Krakowski, Jeanne-Clare Hayes. Aaron Hayes, her brother, Hampton Hayes and sister, Holly Hern. She was the grandmother of 14 children, the great grandmother of 14, as well as a cherished aunt, cousin and friend. We are comforted by the knowledge that she has found the "peace that passeth understanding,"Funeral to be held on Sunday, October 23 at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. Viewing from 12:00-2:00pm Service at 2:00, then internment, followed by a celebration of life luncheon.
