Helen Irene Hansen's Obituary
Helen Irene Hansen of Stanton, age 98, passed away November 26, 2015 at The Laurels of Carson City with family by her side. Helen was born April 29, 1917 in Lansing, Michigan the daughter Clifford and Edna (Stewart) Partlow. Helen was very patriotic; she served on the home front at the "Bomber Plant" in Ypsilanti as one of the original "Rosie the Riveters" and Gibson's in Greenville making gliders during WWII. She was a member of the Stanton American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 456 and the VFW in Sheridan, MI. Helen was also a member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Stanton, MI. She was part of the Old Fashion Days Committee and volunteered for the American Red Cross. Helen worked for many years as the Stanton City Clerk.
Helen is survived by her children; Deanna Porter and Linda Martin, 6 grandchildren; Barry (Freda) Lindsay, Shannon Lindsay, Joni Lindsay, Robin (Francois) Pomerleau, Amanda Martin and Gene Jordon and one great-grandchild; Joshua Lavy. Helen was preceded in death by her children; Dennis Martin and Beverly Lindsay, grandchild; Alissa Martin and 5 brothers and sisters.
Celebration of Life Service for Helen will take place Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 415 N. Mills, St, Stanton, MI 48888 with Pastor Mark Edwards to officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later time in Forest Hill Cemetery, Stanton, MI. Visitation will take place Monday, November 30, 2015 from 5:00-8:00PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel-Edmore and also on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 1:00PM until the time of service from Trinity Evangelical Free Church. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Stanton American Legion Post 456.
