Jack Edward Wilson's Obituary
Mecosta Jack E. Wilson, 79, of Mecosta, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at his residence on School Section Lake. He was born May 18, 1931, in Muskegon, the son of Vern and Rose (Polaski) Wilson. Jack was a standout athlete at Mecosta High School, and was inducted into the Mecosta County Sprots Hall of Fame in 2002. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Jack is survived by his wife Arvola (Edwards) Wilson; 5 sons, Dave Wilson (Kay) of New Mexico, Jerry Wilson of Gaylord, Marty (Sandy) Wilson of Remus, Dan (Kaye) Wilson of Remus, Mike (Julie) Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; 5 daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Dibean of Lansing, Jane (Don) Wood of Alpena, Jackie (Mike) Moore of Mecosta, Cheri (Rick) Randall of Howard City, Shelley (Steve) Sherman of Macomb; step-children Connie (Don) Denman of Farwell, Dave (Cindy) Edwards of Shepherd, and Don Edwards of Shepherd. Also surviving are one sister, Donna Wilson of Rodney, and many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his first wife Alice, to whom he was married for 52 years, a son Steve Wilson, 3 grandchildren, and one daughter-in-law. Jacks family will greet friends on Friday, July 23, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Remus, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Burt officiating. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Gods Helping Hands. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
