Jackwyn A. Miller's Obituary
Big Rapids - Jackwyn A. Miller, 77, of Big Rapids, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Royal View Retirement Community in Canadian Lakes.
She was born February 27, 1941, in Byron Center, the daughter of Howard and Dorothea (Nelson) Baker, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1959.
For many years, Jackie worked at Ferris State University until retiring. She was a longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Big Rapids.
In 1961, Jackie married her high school sweetheart, Charles G. Miller, who preceded her in death on June 23, 2018. Surviving are 2 daughters, Michelle Schuberg of Big Rapids, and Melanie (Mike) Hulst of Holland; 1 son Michael (Linda) Miller of Rodney; 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Haley) Hulst, Morgan (Zach) VandenBerg, Emalie Schuberg, Charles and Alice Miller; her sisters, Virgie Purchase of Grand Haven, Katie (Jerry) Rushmore of Grand Rapids, Joyce Freiberg of Glendale, AZ; her sister-in-law Louise Baker of Boise, ID; and many nieces and nephews. Jackie was also preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth, Ferris, and Sonny Baker.
Funeral services for Jackie will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2019, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Jonathan Williams officiating. Spring burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery. Jackie's family will greet friends on Sunday, January 6, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions in her name may be made for St. Peter's, with envelopes available at the funeral home or church.
