Jacqueline Lea Murray's Obituary
Jacqueline “Jackie” Lea Murray, age 84, entered eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on April 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A true matriarch, Jackie will be remembered as a one-of-a-kind woman whose enthusiasm for life, kind heart, and unwavering faith touched countless lives. Her laughter was contagious, her love unconditional, and her presence a blessing to all who knew her.
Jackie was born on September 24, 1941, to Howard and Edith Cooley. She married, Richard Murray, on July 3, 1959, in Cannonsburg, Michigan. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Jackie found her greatest joy in time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was deeply involved in her church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school, sharing her strong faith with others.
She lived life fully, no matter the circumstances, and inspired others through her resilience, positivity, and servant’s heart. Jackie volunteered in countless ways and found joy in simple pleasures—swimming, fishing, playing games, and gathering loved ones for laughter and song. Her family and friends cherished her uplifting spirit and her love for a good sing-along.
Jackie is lovingly survived by her daughter, Kim (Jim) Vanderkolk; daughter-in-law, Diana Murray; grandchildren: Fred (Jessica), Ted, Troy (Meridith), Lindsay (Adam) and Katie (Alex). As well as 11 Great Grandchildren. Jackie is also remembered fondly by the caring staff and friends at Royal View Retirement Community, where she brought light and joy to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Richard Murray; her son, Fred Murray; and her sister, Mary.
