Edmore - James Joseph Brousseau, age 80, passed away on Sunday May 19, 2019 at his home in Farwell. James was born July 4, 1938 in Detroit, the Son of Patrick and Amey (Smally) Brousseau. James was raised in Cedar Lake and attended school there. He joined the United States Navy and then the United States Army, serving his country honorably for a combined total of 9 years including time spent in Vietnam. During this time, he earned his GED. James then was employed by General Motors and retired after 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening, watching NASCAR racing, especially Jeff Gordon and playing the lottery.
James will be missed by his children, Mary Ann Ealy of Stanton, Kevin Brousseau of Sterling Heights, Linda Brousseau of Stanton, Patrick Brousseau of Stanton; the love of his life, Elaine Proudly; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Alison, James, Jenny, Tiffany, and Zachary; and his great-grandchildren, Emily, Lilly, Elaina, Elora and Alexis; his brothers, Don of Cedar Lake, Ron of Crosewell; and his sisters, Patricia and Sharon of Louisiana.
James was preceded in death by his parents Patrick and Viola Brousseau; sisters, Violet Craven, JoAnn Snively, Gladys Wagner and his son James Brousseau.
Services for James will be scheduled at a later date.
