James Franklin Burt Jr., 87, of Edmore passed away on February 11, 2018 in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born on May 29, 1930 in Prescott, Arizona to James F. Burt, Sr. and Doris (Potbury) Burt. Frank graduated from Edmore High School in 1948. On June 21, 1950 he married his high school sweetheart, June Ensing. Together they worked in and later became owners of Burt's Fine Foods. He also volunteered for the Edmore/Home Township Fire Department and was the fire chief for several years. Frank was also a mason and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church.
He is Preceded in death by his parents, sisters- Phyliss (Burt) Wert and Emily (Burt) Longnecker and brothers-in-law Roger Ensing, Jason Ensing, and Harold Wert. Surviving are his Wife June, children: Jean and Tony Croll of Edmore and Jim and Deb Burt of Carson City; grandchildren: April and Alan Burt, Michael and Melissa Croll, Pat and Melissa Yagiela and Matthew and Nicole Croll; Four great grandchildren; one sister Joan Rasmussen; one brother-in-law Willard Ensing; several nieces and nephews, and many friends at Greenhill's Estates in Zephyrhills, Florida.
Funeral services for Frank will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore at 11:00 am with the family accepting friends for visitation starting at 10:00 am and on Friday, February 16, 2018 from2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. Pastor Dan Barkholz will be officiating the service. All are invited to attend a luncheon, at the church, immediately following the service. Those wishing to contribute in Frank's memory are asked to consider Faith United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
