James A Butts' Obituary
On February 19, 2023, James Arthur Butts peacefully passed away at Woodland Hospice, at the
age of 87.
Born April 30, 1935, he was welcomed by parents, Roy and Velma (Prosser) Butts as their third
child. He married Sharon Ann Jordan on December 5, 1959 and together the two grew their
family to include three children. Throughout the years, James worked for multiple different
heating and cooling companies as a service technician. In his spare time, James enjoyed fishing,
finding treasures with his metal detector, and scouring the U.P. for rocks to collect. Anything he
could do outdoors, he enjoyed. A member of the Chippewa Hills Baptist Church all his adult life,
James cherished his faith.
Left to carry on his memory are children, Brenda (Herbert) Faling, Barbara Butts (David Rowell)
and Brian Butts (Annette Bauman); grandson, Harley Raglin and brother, Clifford Butts.
James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon, and siblings, Gloria, Leighton and
Bobby.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place with a memorial service to be held in the spring.
