James Richard Cook, our devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away October 21, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family. He was 73 years old. Per his wishes, cremation will take place with no service to follow. Jim was Read Obituary

Steve Luciano posted a condolenceI was very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was my first supervisor at LPD when I started as a dispatcher in 1981. I was only 20 years old then and he had to be a little tough to smooth out some of the rough edges. I remember that I overslept one morning and was 20 minutes late for work Jim wrote me up and docked my pay. OUCH! As time passed I realized he was doing that for my own good and to get me on the right track. As my career at LPD continued, Jim was a very valued mentor and friend and I valued his advice and experience. I also remember several great times with Jim at the shift parties every third rotation when we went from day shift to night shift an boy did that group know how to party (everyone had the night off and didn't have to work until night shift the following evening). When the work was done Jim enjoyed having some fun...

Never was there a more gentle man or gentleman. I know there are no words that truly comfort at this time. There is an old Jewish saying that God gives us trials, but He also gives us shoulders to lean on. Mine is always available.
And, I think of Jim many times, but I ALWAYS will think of him when I see a Green Egg Cooker. The master of those delicious meals is probably cooking for a host of angles in heaven.
