James Paul Epperson's Obituary
James Paul Epperson, age 76 of Mecosta, passed away February 27, 2015. Cremation will take place with no services to follow.
James was born December 21, 1938, in Canastota, NY, the son of Augustus and Martha (Popple) Epperson. He worked at a metal factory in Boston after serving his country for four years in the United States Navy. After moving to Michigan, James worked for Robinson Furniture Company (which would eventually become Wolverine World Wide) for 36 years before retiring.
His hobbies included fishing with his son, Mike, being outdoors and playing euchre with his friends, which he did almost daily. James was a people person and was well loved and respected. The holidays were a favorite time for James because he got to be with all of his family. He was known for his stubbornness, good sense of humor, willingness to do anything for his children and his not-so-good driving skills.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mike Epperson, Jimmy Epperson, Karen (Brian) Smith and Amy (Mark) Prosser; brother, Robert (Nancy) Popple; sister, Barb (Stan); grandchildren, Shawna, Tiffany, Ashley, Kayla, Keith, Kelly and Paisley; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marcia.
