James Louis Walter's Obituary
Lakeview - James Louis Walter, age 82, of Coral passed away at home on December 30, 2018. Jim was born in Seymour, Wisconsin on February 14, 1936 the son of Louis and Norma (Ziedler) Walter. He was raised in Seymour and the surrounding area. Jim graduated from Seymour High School with the class of 1956. He joined the Air Force in December of 1956 working as an airplane mechanic as part of the 2D Field Maintenance Squadron SAC, obtaining the rank of E-3 (Airman First Class) before being honorably discharged in September of 1959. He married Norma Jean Gage on July 18, 1959 in Seymour, Wisconsin and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage before her passing in 2017. Jim worked for St. Joseph's School and International Trucking in Green Bay, and Youngman's Chevrolet, Crooks Farm Power, Robinson's Equipment, Lakeside and Stout Farms and Electrolux after moving to Michigan. He enjoyed being in nature, whether it was hunting, bow hunting, fishing, ice fishing, gardening or finding mushrooms. He also enjoyed watching television.
Jim is survived by his 5 children, Michael J. Walter of Vicksburg, MI, Beth Ann (Walter) Hannabass of Springfield, TN, Joel M. Walter of Cedar Springs, MI, Brenda Jean (Darren) Ladermann of Greenville, MI and Paul N. Walter of Coral, MI; 9 grandchildren, Louis, Olivia, James (Heather), Rachel, Hillary (Jonny) Marley (Abram), Darrek and Mazie; 3 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Sterling and Wesley; sister, Rosemary Counard of Greenbay; brothers Jerry Walter of San Francisco and Louis (Lola) Walter of Neenah Wisconsin.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Walter; his parents, Louis and Norma Walter and one brother, John Walter.
James's family will accept friends for visitation at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Lakeview on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions in may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice. Condolences to the family may be made utilizing the guestbook at www. brighamfuneralchapel. com
