James Oliver Woolworth's Obituary
James Oliver Woolworth was born on August 14th, 1936, to Willard and Ila Woolworth. He was married to Dorene Kay Sutherland on September 10th, 1960. He was preceded to heaven by Dorene this past April. Jim passed on Sunday, he and Dorene's 63rd wedding anniversary- they never spent an anniversary apart. He served in the military as a guard for prisoners of war in Germany. He worked most of his life as a mechanic at Miller's Imperial, Youngman Brothers, and Bollinger's, all in Lakeview. He then retired to spend his days on the golf course- mowing them. He served as a steward at Rustford Free Methodist Church, and later joined Brockway Wesleyan Church where he served as a greeter and an usher. He and Dorene were members of Brockway for almost 50 years. His legacy of family and Christian values is continued by his three sons: Bill (Barb), Brad (Jan) and Randy (Cindy), His grandchildren: Crystal (Joel), Meghan (Michael), Zach (Amber), Molly (Sam), Cody (Katreena), Connor, Milan (Alana), Caden (Ariah), and His great grandchildren, MacKenna, Heath, Presley, Paityn, Kierslynn, Dylan, Eisley, James William, and Canyon Oliver. James Oliver will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. We celebrate his life and choose to remember him as he was in his favorite moments: in a pair of bibs, riding a tractor. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Brockway Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mick Tiede and Pastor Jeff Lemire officiating. Interment will be at Altona Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, September 14, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview and again on Friday from 1:00 PM until time of service at the church.
