Jana Ann Wood's Obituary
Jana Wood, 68, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Following Jesus' example of serving others brought great joy and a sense of purpose to Jana. She grew up in Vestaburg, Michigan, where she was a long-time member of the Vestaburg Church of Christ. She spent many, many volunteer hours at her church. She was a soloist and member of the church choir (and the Vestaburg Community Choir). She was a soloist for dozens of weddings.
She loved cooking and baking (using her mother's handwritten recipes) and contributed to many potlucks, funeral dinners, and meals for the elderly. She helped with Backpack Buddies, a food assistance program for school children. She participated in most church activities and helped with cleaning and preparing the church building each week for Sunday School and worship services. She provided groceries to people in need, car rides to medical appointment, meals and visits to shut-ins.
Jana was a 1971 graduate of Vestaburg High School. After that she attended Great Lakes Bible College in Lansing, Michigan, and Tulsa (Oklahoma) Community College. She received a B. S. in Education from Tulsa University.
Jana was preceded in death by her parents, Keats and Neoma Wood.
