Jane Carolyn Golz's Obituary
? Big Rapids Jane Carolyn Golz, 92, of Big Rapids passed away Monday, November 15, 2010. She was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1918 the daughter of Franklin and Irene (Kengle) Dry. Jane is survived by one sister-in-law Velma McDonald of Big Rapids, nieces and nephews from out east; Penny (Gerald) Morgan, Pam (Charles) Cottle, Paul (Janice) Sayer, Lois (Michael) Salvador, Dan (Beverly) Stewart, Deb Stewart, Duane Stewart and Stephanie (Kenneth) Brant, nieces and nephews from her Big Rapids family; Corrine Andrews of Florence, Mississippi, Dan (Julie) McDonald and Craig McDonald and many great nieces and nephews from both her McKeesport and Big Rapids families. Also surviving are special friends Theresa Foust, Earline Smith and Dottie McMasters and Chardy of Big Rapids. Jane will also be lovingly remembered by life long friends, Doris Frydryck and Sally Little. She married William T. Golz on April 26, 1952 in McKeesport who preceded her in death on March 7, 2009. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters; Fran Sayer, Virginia Jobb and Marion Stewart, two brothers; Earl Dry and Howard Dry and one brother-in-law L.M. "Mack" McDonald. Jane was baptized into the Lutheran Church on January 26, 1919 and confirmed as an eighth grader at St. Johns Lutheran Church in McKeesport. She joined St. Peters Lutheran Chuch in Big Rapids in 1953. Jane retired from Ferris State University in 1980 where she had worked as an executive secretary for several Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs. She was a member of COGs "College Office Girls". She loved her Tuesday lunch bunch of retired Ferris friends. Her family expresses a special Thank You to the staff at Altercare of Big Rapids for their kindness and loving care. Memorial contributions may be made in Janes memory to St. Peters Organ Fund. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2010 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Big Rapids with Pastor John Bookshaw officiating. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 12:00 p.m. prior to service time. Burial will follow at Highland View Cemetery. ?
