Janet Katherine Nielsen's Obituary
Lakeview - Janet Katherine Nielsen, age 62, of Blanchard, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at her home. Janet was born on April 22, 1956 in Saginaw, the daughter of Walter Albert and Audrey Blanche (Stall) Hall. She was raised in the Morley area and graduated from Morley High School class of 1974.
Janet married her high school sweetheart Todd Nielsen, who she first met on Main Street in Lakeview at the tender ages of fifteen and sixteen. They have been together over forty years. Besides living in Blanchard and Lakeview, Janet and Todd also lived in Iowa for fifteen years.
Janet was really good at taking care of everyone else. She loved her family deeply and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She also loved wildlife, photography, drawing, and carving. Janet was an artist with a green thumb.
Janet is survived in death by her companion Todd Nielsen of Blanchard; her four children Julie (Steven) Snyder of Six Lakes, Eva (Brett) Spedoske-Campbell of Shepherd, Jared Nielsen of Stanton, and Alex (Meggan) Ballard-Nielsen of Blanchard; ten grandchildren Bailey, Robert, Carlee, Laila, Jack, Laine, Henry, Spencer, Gracie, and Brody; her father Walter Hall; three siblings Dale Near, Sandy Edgerly of Morley, and Kenneth "Kenny" Near of Howard City; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother Audrey Hall; one son-in-law Robert A. Spedoske; three brothers Jerry Near, Mark and Jim "Buzz" Hall; one brother-in-law Jay Edgerly; and one sister-in-law Betty Near.
A celebration of Janet's life will be Monday, April 22, 2019 from 4:00 - 8:00 P. M. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI. A banquet will be open to all through the entire event.
