Janet Raye Pawlak's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Pawlak, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and devoted wife, who left this world on March 23, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on July 28, 1942, Janet brought joy and warmth to all who knew her throughout her enriching life.
A devoted homemaker and a passionate member of her church community, Janet found fulfillment in serving others. She was a cherished guitarist in the church choir, using her musical talents to uplift spirits and nourish faith. A Roman Catholic, Janet took great pride in her faith, which profoundly shaped her values and the love she expressed to her family.
Janet was a loving mother to her sons, Gary and Tod Pawlak, and to daughter Dawn (David) Bucks. She was the treasured sister of Gerald Lee, Robert, Dennis, Mary Jo, and Kathleen, and grandmother to Tiffany, David, Cheyanne, and Tabitha; and a great grandmother to 7. She will be deeply missed with her warmth, humor, and nurturing nature. Janet embraced life fully, and her compassion extended beyond her immediate family; she volunteered in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and outreach centers, demonstrating her commitment to helping those in need.
Janet loved vibrant family gatherings and treasured moments spent with her children and grandchildren. A phrase she often shared with loved ones, "Watch for deer," will remain a fond memory, reminding her family to always take care and be safe. An adventurous spirit, she traveled around the world, creating lasting memories that she shared with her loved ones.
A visitation and Rosary service will be held on March 29, 2026 at the Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Lakeview, from 4p.m. - 7 p.m., with Rosary starting at 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on March 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Francis de Sales in Lakeview, with a viewing at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the service at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Lakeview at 12:00 PM, providing an opportunity for all to share their cherished memories of Janet.
Janet was preceded in death by husband Ronald of nearly 60 years and parents Raymond and June. Along with her sister Marylin and great granddaughter, Adrie.
