Janet Ann (Stephenson) Grams' Obituary
Big Rapids Janet Ann (Stephenson) Grams, 81 , of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2011 with her husband, Harold at her side. She is now in the arms of her heavenly Father. Janet was born on September 27, 1929 at her family farm on Clear Lake Road in Colfax Township, Big Rapids. She was the daughter of Louise (Munn) and Ezra Dow Stephenson. Janet graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1948 and attended Ferris Institute. On June 25, 1949 she married the love of her life, Harold L. Grams. Together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage and traveled throughout the United States. Janet was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, the LLW and Meceola Country Club. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home, especially the Wednesday night "group", her grandchildren, gardening, cooking, her horses, cows and dogs (Holly & Tucker). Janet worked with Harold at their family business, Riverside Furniture and retired from Mutual Savings and Loan. She is survived by her loving family, husband, Harold, four children; Christie (Rod Niswander) Grams of Petoskey, Catherine (Kent) Casadonte of Cross Village, Harold (Lisa) Grams of Big Rapids and Eric (Jackie) Grams of Sparks, NV. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Ryan (Jennifer Giggey) Grams, Rachael (Bill Riley) Grams, Jonathan Grams, Zackary Grams, Darin (Carrie Conrad) Blackwelder, Amelia (Matt) Boren, Gabriel Jackson, Daniel Grams and five great-grandchildren, Jacob Grams, James Riley, Emily Riley, Grace Boren and Ruby Boren, special nephew, Richard (Penny) Schuberg plus sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Gordy Prince and many nieces, nephews and dear life long friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Ezra Paul Johnson, brothers and sisters, Mary Martha (John R.) Coates, Dow (Maureen) Stephenson, Carolyn Louise (Dick) Schuberg and special niece Stephanie (Schuberg) Simons. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St. Peters Lutheran Church with Pastor John Bookshaw officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Janets memory to St. Peters Lutheran School or The Mecosta County Humane Society. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
