Janine R. Perdue's Obituary
Big Rapids - Janine R. Perdue, 88 of Big Rapids, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017, at her home. Janine was born July 5, 1929, in Lampertheim, Germany, the daughter of Karl and Elizabeth (Wetzel) Soldan. She was educated in Germany, mastering in Ballet/Dance, and she danced in many European Capitals, such as Vienna and Prague. On July 5,1955, in Heidelberg, Germany, she married John (Jack) Perdue, and they were married 48 years prior to his passing in 2004. Upon coming to the United States, Janine founded Janine School of Dance in Detroit. Janine and Jack moved to Big Rapids in 1980, where Jack taught at Ferris State in the School of Business and Janine founded Janine School of Dance of Big Rapids. Janine was involved in many civic organizations through out the years, including being President of the local Zonta Organization. Janine is survived by her 2 sons, John and Charles Perdue of Big Rapids; sister, Edith Daniels of South Carolina; granddaughter Mallory Perdue of Grand Rapids; grandson Neil Perdue of Big Rapids; great-grandson Jacob Perdue of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. Janine was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Walter, Karl and Otto, and grandson Jesse Perdue. Janine passed as she wished, at her home overlooking the river, with her dog and cat, along with her sons by her side. A special Thank You to Ms. Debbie Sandeen, Ms. Bonnie Wernette and Mr. William (Bill) Curtice, who all assisted Janine at different intervals in her battle with Alzheimer's & Dementia. A Celebration of Life will be announced for Spring/Summer 2018. Memorial contributions in Janine's name may be made for a charity of choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
