Jason Dean Proctor's Obituary
Jason Dean Proctor, born September 16, 1981, in Grand Rapids, passed away on February 15, 2025, at Corewell Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was the beloved son of the late Jeffrey and Lorraine (Reed) Proctor.
Jason had a deep love for music, classic cars, and playing poker. A friendly and kind-hearted soul, he was always willing to lend an ear to those who needed it. He found joy in fishing, gathering with loved ones, and singing karaoke at the Sawmill alongside his many friends. His presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him.
Jason cherished spending time with his niece and nephew, often playing games with them and helping out after moving in with his sister, Lisa. He had a passion for camaraderie and a knack for making people feel welcome. One of his favorite quotes was “I’m your Huckleberry”, from his favorite movie, “Tombstone”.
Left to honor his memory are his sister, Lisa Proctor; his niece and nephew, Lucious and Lillith Jansma; his grandmother, Gail Reed ; aunts, Amy Wilkins (Robert) and Joyce Spaulding (Steve); uncles, Michael Reed and James Reed; along with numerous cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his aunt Doreen Grant.
In accordance with Jason’s wishes, cremation will take place, with a memorial service to be held in the spring. Those desiring may direct memorial donations in Jason’s honor to the National Kidney Foundation at, kidney.org. His warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
