Jean Kingsley's Obituary
Big Rapids - Jean Ann Kingsley, 61, of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017, at home surrounded by her immediate family. Jean was born February 23, 1956, in Detroit, to Neal and Jessie Burchfield (who both are welcoming her into glory). She is the eldest of their five children. Jean earned her B.S. Degree in Accounting from Ferris State University, where she had met her future husband. On October 7, 1979, in Howell, she married Paul C. Kingsley, and was happily looking forward to their 38th Wedding Anniversary next month. For nearly 10 years, Jean helped manage a special needs adult assisted living home in Big Rapids before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was an active member of Trinity Fellowship Church, enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, writing uplifting cards and letters, playing card games with family, and so much more. Jean is survived by her husband Paul; their three daughters, Laura (Andrew) Tingley, Janet, and Grace; three grandchildren, Logan, Carter, and Brynn; her four siblings, Harold, Wayne, Paul, and Lisa; her aunt Carolyn; and many other close cousins and relatives. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Trinity Fellowship Evangelical Free Church, 15085 220th Avenue in Big Rapids, with Pastor Gary deBock officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Plains Cemetery. Jean's family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Samaritan's Purse, with envelopes available at the church or the Mohnke Funeral Home, where arrangements are entrusted.
