Jeanette Marie Bouman's Obituary
Jeanette "Marie" Bouman, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2012, with her family by her side at Altercare of Big Rapids, MI. Jeanette was a lifelong resident of Mecosta County. She was born August 7, 1926 in Barryton to Albert and Ada Huber. Jeanette married Bastian Cornelius "B.C." Bouman on May 03, 1946 and resided in Big Rapids. Soon after, Jeanette and Bastian moved to Paris, MI, their primary residence their entire lives. Jeanette was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church of Big Rapids, and dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker on the family farm, where she raised her eight children. She also devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to elderly family members. Jeanette enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time with family, the outdoors, fishing, and travelling to the family cottage in Pickford, Michigan. Jeanette is survived by her eight children, four sons (spouses), Michael "Corky" (Helen) Bouman, Jim (Kelly) Bouman, William Bouman, and Joe (Christine) Bouman, and four daughters (spouses), Sharon (Virgil) Snider, Marcia (Brad) Thomson, Connie (Mike) Sheldon, and Sandy (Steve) Larie. Jeanette is also survived by 34 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 63 years: Bastian Cornelius Bouman, Brothers: Albert and Harold Huber, Sister: Ada Belle (Urban) Thompson, and half-brothers: Del (Vivian) and Joe Perry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 14 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Big Rapids, with visitation on Friday, April 13 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Mohnke Funeral Home, and Saturday before the memorial service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
