Jerald Dwain Hollandsworth Jr.'s Obituary
Jerald Dwain Hollandsworth Jr. passed away peacefully Thursday, October 7, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Per his wishes, cremation will take place with no services at this time. However, it is also Jerry’s wish to have all of his friends and family together again to remember, laugh, and share stories in his pole barn one more time. Details for this celebration of life will be shared with the public at a later date.
Jerry married the love of his life, Lisa Totten, on September 8, 1995. After 32 years of working for General Motors, Jerald retired and spent his time with those he loved most. He loved being a father and grandfather. As soon as his grandchildren were born, he eagerly opened up “Papa’s Daycare” and enjoyed as much time as he could with his grandkids. Fishing and going on buggy rides with his boys were some of Jerry’s favorite pastimes.
Jerry will forever be remembered as an entertainer, jokester and life of the party. Every Memorial Day Weekend, Jerry would throw a huge bash to honor our country and its servicemen and women. He loved his country. Jerry was a huge sports fanatic. It didn’t matter what game was on, Jerry was watching it! He enjoyed softball so much that he played for over 40 years. Nascar races were his favorite sporting event to attend. Jerry also had a great appreciation for music and was known for his impeccable air guitar skills. Pink Floyd, Bob Seger and The Eagles were some of Jerry’s favorite bands.
Jerald was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Elsie (Warner) and Ron Burkholder; his father, Jerald Hollandsworth Sr; and his brother, Milo Hollandsworth.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 26 years, Lisa (Totten) Hollandsworth; daughters, Darby Jo (Phillip Fowler) Barker, Kelly (Jeffrey Carson) Hollandsworth-Davis, Christine (Bob) Laverty, Karen (Chuck) Rollenhagen; sisters, Cathy Hollandsworth, Lisa (Jeff) Porter; grandchildren, Tristen, Kaysen and Audrie Fowler, 5 additional grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Gerti; and many special friends.
