Jerry Ray Curtis' Obituary
Hersey - Jerry Ray Curtis, 69, of Hersey, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, March 12, 2021, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born August 24, 1951, in Athens, TN, the son of William and Odetta (Stone) Curtis.
In 1972 in Big Rapids, Jerry married Ellen Marie Cousineau, and lived in the area most of his life.
Jerry graduated from the Ferris State University Heavy Equipment Technology program. He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years, retiring from the Newaygo County Road Commission after over 15 years of service there.
Jerry was a longtime active member of the River Valley Car Club. He currently served as vice-president, and was former past president. Jerry was a Godly person, and a strong family man as well.
Jerry is survived by his wife Ellen; two children, Sarah McBean of Middleville, and J.R. Curtis of Springdale, AR; three grandchildren, Kyle, Alexis, and Aaron; his brother Charles (Reba) Curtis, and his sister Mary Newman, both of Etowah, TN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and seven siblings.
