Jerry LeRoy Finch's Obituary
Lakeview-Jerry LeRoy Finch, age 76, of Coral, passed away on September 28, 2019 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids. He was born on January 7, 1943, the son of LeRoy and Velma (Grover) Finch. He was raised in McBride, and attended the local one room country school house, and Edmore High School. Jerry served his country honorably for five years in the Army National Guard where he was stationed at Fort Leonardwood in Missouri. Jerry married Linda Corwin on June 7, 1996 in Stanton. He was a chevy mechanic, certified in air conditioners and automotive transmissions, for Basom Dealership in Stanton, and a truck driver for Sandy Land Farms where he retired in June of 2009. Not one to enjoy retirement, Jerry immediately went back to work part time for Sandy Land. He loved being around his family, his special buddy Ginny Sue his golden retriever, and watching the Tigers. He enjoyed being outside riding his side by side, washing his cars, trucks, trailers, and keeping his vehicles organized and maintained.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Linda Finch of Coral; children Rex Finch of Wyoming, MI, Lisa (John) Black of Howard City, Brian (Katrina) Corwin of Howard City; grandchildren Jordan Black, Lauren Corwin, Lindsay Corwin, and great grandson Andrew Black; six siblings Luella (Harry) Western of Vestaburg, Joyce (Laverne) Hansen of Edmore, Marilyn (Bill) Stoner of St. Louis, Onalee (Paul) Moore of Atlanta, MI, Wandalee Doolittle of Atlanta, MI, Roy (Cheryl) Finch of Lakeview; one brother-in-law George (Denise) Hubbard of Howard City; and several nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Velma Finch; and four siblings.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be Friday, October 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Anne Riegler and Pastor Charles Fulmer officiating at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. Visitation will be at 12:00 PM until the start of the service. A luncheon will follow the service in the banquet room at the funeral home.
