Obituary
Edmore-Jerry D. Parks, age 90, of Edmore, passed away surrounded by his family at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI, on April 25, 2018. Jerry was born in Flint, Michigan on March 15, 1928 the son of James and Minnie (Wood) Krashowitz. He was raised in the communities of Flint, Shepherd, before finally settling in Crystal, where he graduated from high school with the class of 1946. He married the love of his life, Shirley Whipple on February 6, 1949, at the Carson City Methodist Church. Jerry worked for the Michigan-Ohio pipeline company for fifteen years and then for Chemical Bank Montcalm, working his way to vice-president before his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, building golf clubs and watching the Detroit Tigers. He belonged to the Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore, and the Masonic lodge Tuscon-Mt. Gilead lodge 178).
Jerry is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley J. Parks; one daughter, Jerilyn (Arvon) Farrell; one son, Tom (Shelley) Parks; four grandchildren, Joe Farrell, Megan (Adam) Ryder, T.J. (Frank) Parks, and Matthew (Jenny) Parks; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Farrell, Rae Parks, Havena Patti-Parks and special aunt, Esther Bryant.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Krashowitz and Minnie O'Brien, and one brother, James Parks.
Services for Jerry will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Faith United Methodist Church, Edmore, MI, with pastor Dan Barkholz officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM.
