Jody Lee Gibbons' Obituary
Jody Lee Gibbons, 52, of Stanton, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at his mother’s home, surrounded by family. Born January 13, 1974, to parents Phillip and Kathy (Bennett) Gibbons, Jody was a lifelong resident of Stanton and attended schools at Central Montcalm while growing up. He dedicated 30 years of his life as a Treeman, known for his reliability and hard work.
Jody was united in marriage with his beloved wife, Angel Grummet, on July 12, 2014. He was a proud father to his son, Jody Jr., daughter, Bailey, and a loving stepdad to Ashley. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren: Skylar, Aiden, Emberlynn, Hudson, Asher, and Dravenn. A passionate outdoorsman, Jody loved camping, hunting, fishing, and swimming but above all, he treasured time with his family. He truly was the life of every gathering.
Jody will be deeply missed by his mother, Kathy Hancock; wife, Angel Gibbons; children, Jody Gibbons II, Bailey (Brad) Zuidewind, Ashley West; and grandchildren, Skylar Moore, Aiden Gibbons, Emberlynn Gibbons, Hudson and Asher Zuidewind, and Dravenn West. He is also survived by brother Tracy Gibbons, stepbrothers Stanley Gibbons and Mark Reynolds, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Jody was preceded in death by his dad, Phillip Gibbons, stepmother, Rosemary Gibbons, stepfather, Kenneth Hancock, and his brother, Phillip Gibbons Jr.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Jody’s memory at noon on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Edmore First Church of God. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to assist with funeral expenses. Jody’s spirit and love of family will continue to shine brightly through all who knew him. Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Edmore
