Joey Allen Hulbert's Obituary
On December 18, 2021, the world became a little less bright when Joey Allen Hulbert passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 49. He was currently residing in Big Rapids, MI.
Joey was born July 3, 1972, the son of Thomas and Jackie (Sharkey) Hulbert. He had a larger than life personality, and when he entered a room everyone knew it. Joey was a graduate of Tri County High School, and later drove school bus for them. His passion for doing hair led him to become a Cosmetologist, which was his calling in life. He worked at Guys and Dolls in Morley and more recently, A Flair for Hair in Canadian Lakes, where he had many dear friends. His clients loved him and he loved them. Joey had a way of making friends everywhere he went, and bringing laughs and joy to those fortunate enough to be in his company. Joey’s big heart and love for his family led him into a caregiving roll, taking care of his beloved grandparents, Jack and Thelma Beemer, up until their passing. He enjoyed road trips and traveling with friends and family. He loved to cook, entertain, and thoroughly enjoyed being around people. Golfing was a passion of Joey’s, and he went every chance he got. He didn’t sit still often, and didn’t have a lazy bone in his body, as he was familiar with hard work and dedication. As busy as he kept himself, Joey did enjoy time to slow down and sit at the park with his precious dog and companion, Annabelle.
Joey’s vibrant personality and great sense of humor will be so deeply missed by his parents, Thomas and Jackie; siblings, Joshua Hulbert and Jennifer Hulbert; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Joey’s family.
A special thanks to all who have supported Joey’s family during this time.
