John Gregory Hipple Sr.'s Obituary
John Gregory Hipple, Sr., 95, of Mecosta, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, with his sons by his side.
John (Jack) was born on November 17, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, to Thomas Hipple, Sr. and Irene Hipple. He graduated from St. Mary of Redford High School and served his country proudly during the Korean War. Following his service, John dedicated 34 years of hard work and leadership as a superintendent with Ford Motor Company before his retirement.
On May 15, 1954, John married the love of his life, Joan. Together they shared more than 71 years of devotion, family, and cherished memories until Joan’s passing in the fall of 2025. Their love and commitment to one another was evident to all who knew them, and now John rests once again by her side.
A faithful member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Remus, John lived his life centered on faith and family. His beloved wife and children always came first. He was mechanically inclined and an experienced handyman who could fix just about anything. Whether helping with car troubles or lending a hand with repairs, John was always willing to help anyone in need. He was known for his generosity, steady presence, and quiet kindness.
John will be deeply missed by his loving children: Patrick (Louise) Hipple, Jack (Miwa) Hipple, James Hipple, and Mary (Paul) Ward. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Hipple; daughter, Kathleen his parents; and his five brothers and one sister.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus, Michigan, with family receiving friends a half hour prior to the service. Father Michael Alber as Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church.
