John Gerald Mattiello's Obituary
age 76, of Canadian Lakes, passed away peacefully at home September 24, 2013, after his year long battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Remus, Saturday, October 5th, at 11:00am. Visitation will also be at the church from 10:00am to the time of service at 11:00am. Father Aaron Ferris will officiate.
John was born December 21, 1936, the son of John and Irene (Aho) Mattiello. He married the love of his life, Diane, on December 30, 1961. John was a religious man that was always sure to count his blessing. He had many hobbies and interests over the years but his most recent was golfing.
Quiet, unique, and friendly were all words used to describe John; but above all, he was a loving husband and father.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Diane; children, John James (Jennifer) Mattiello, Irene (Mike) Allard, and Melissa Mattiello; grandchildren, Timothy Shawn Schilling, Meghan Schilling, Seth Schilling, Anthony Allard, Benjamin Allard, Samantha Mattiello, and Joseph Gerald Mattiello; brothers, Bryan, James, and Donald Mattiello; sisters, Lyane Kearns, Mary Mattiello, and Judy Mattiello, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sadly John was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Joseph.
