Obituary
Joseph N. Barnes, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at his home with family by his side. Joseph was born in 1948 in Greenville, the son of Robert E. and Mary L. (Grim) Barnes. He was raised in Blanchard and attended Blanchard Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1966. Joseph was a contractor his whole life, formerly retiring in 2001. He married Lorna (Keeler) Barnes on October 26, 2013, in Six Lakes. Joseph enjoyed outdoor activities and was an avid fisher and hunter. He was a member of the Eagles Club.
Joseph will be missed by his wife, Lorna Barnes of Blanchard; children, Michelle Barnes of Blanchard, David (Tammy) Peterman of Hersey, Royce (John) Bargas of Oklahoma; stepchildren, Laura (Marty) Myers of Blanchard, and Karen (Gale) Nesbitt of Edmore; grandchildren, Marc Barnes, Paige and Mackenzia Peterman, and J. T. Barnes; step- grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister Cherie (Glenn) Walcutt; and best friend Mike Feutz.
Joseph was preceded in death by one step son Jay Vaughn; and his parents Robert and Mary Barnes.
