Joseph William Frizzell's Obituary
Big Rapids - Joseph William "Joe" Frizzell, 39, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 15, 2018, from complications of an illness of several weeks. Joe was born January 16, 1978, in Big Rapids, and attended elementary and middle school in Big Rapids. He then moved to Lakeview with his mother, and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1995, where he participated in Cross Country. Joe worked as a chef at several restaurants in Grand Rapids. In his spare time, he loved to snowboard. Joe is survived by his fiancée, Renee Bushman and her daughter Kyra of Grand Rapids; his mother Lauri (Gary) Nielsen of Lakeview; his father Jack Frizzell of Big Rapids; his brother Daniel Frizzell; 3 step-brothers, Marcus, Cory, and Greg Nielsen; his grandmothers Vivien Frizzell and Dorothy DeVore; plus many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services for Joe will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Big Rapids, with his uncle, Hap Frizzell officiating. His family will greet friends at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids on Friday, January 19, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., and at the church prior to services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to share an expression of sympathy may do so to Joe's fiancée, Renee Bushman, to help with medical expenses.
