Joseph Paul Stimac's Obituary
Edmore- Joseph Paul Stimac, 79, passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2024 at his home in Stanton, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Joseph was born to the late Joseph William Stimac and Helen Schaaf on January 3, 1945 in Hancock, Michigan. He graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in social work. He had a successful career as a Child Protective Services Investigator with the State of Michigan for over 30 years. He then worked an additional 10 years at Montcalm County Friend of the Court as a mediator. Joe served a total of 7 years military, 4 years reserves, and 3 years active duty for the United States Navy. Joe enjoyed playing darts, pool, bowling, completing jigsaw puzzles and model kits. He loved Saturday poker nights with his friends. He was a lifelong U of M and Detroit Lions fan. He is survived by his wife Cintia Stimac of 18 and a half years, daughter Carrie (Shawn) Thill, and his two sons Eric and Kyle Stimac. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joseph will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 E Gilson St., Edmore, MI, on Wednesday, March 20th, from 4-7PM. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Thursday, March 21st, 2024 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 530 W Howard City-Edmore Rd., Edmore, MI, with Pastor John Autio officiating. Interment to follow at Vinewood Cemetery. Luncheon will be held at the American Legion at 337 W Day St., Stanton, MI. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions for IM Fostering Hope, P. O. box 12, Stanton, MI, 48888.
