Joshua David Horan's Obituary
Big Rapids - Joshua David Horan, 27, of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was born May 5, 1990, in Big Rapids, the son of Paul and Kristen (Albachten) Horan, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 2008. Josh was currently attending Ferris State University, studying public relations. He also worked at both Meijer's and the Gypsy Nickel. A kind and compassionate soul, Josh was a man of innocence and full of joy. He was loved by family and friends alike, and always returned that love. He also loved raising and caring for dogs, especially Shasta and Riley. Josh is survived by his parents; his brother Jordan; grandparents Robert and Dolores Horan, Jr., Dar and LaMar Gardner, and Tony and Kelly Albachten; aunts and uncles Bob and Lynn Horan, Tom Horan, Marcia Schuberg, Maria and Bill Stewart, Dennis and Lynn Albachten, and Brent and Amie Albachten; and many cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his aunt Heidi (Trathan) Horan, and uncles Don Trasker and Harry D. Conley. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids, with Fr. Michael Burt as celebrant. Josh's family will greet friends at the Mohnke Funeral Home on Friday, November 17, from 4-7 p.m., and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions in his name may be made for the Animal Rescue Coalition (A.R.C.) in Mecosta County, with envelopes at the funeral home.
