Joy Ellen Langworthy's Obituary
Joy Ellen Langworthy, age 56, of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born February 27, 1956, in Muskegon, the daughter of Larry and Norma (Martin) Schumaker. In 1964, the family moved to Reed City, and then to Big Rapids one year later. Joy graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1974, and has lived here since. Joy leaves behind on earth her son Theodore Langworthy, and her mother Norma, both of Big Rapids; 5 brothers, Gary (Sue) of Southaven, MO, Craig of Hart, Lanny (Diana) of Conklin, Michael of Stanwood, Mark (Karley) of Montague; her aunt and uncle Darle and Kay Gould; several nieces and nephews; her dear friend Pat who cared for her during her illness; and her pets Lily, Baby, and Onyx. She was preceded in death by her father Larry, uncle Dale Martin, grandparents Orville and Frances Martin, and nephew Aaron Schumaker. Following Joy's wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
