Juanita Schwandt's Obituary
Lakeview - Juanita (Jensen) Schwandt, age 94, of Six Lakes passed away at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital on August 3, 2019. She was born on May 7, 1925 to Clifford and Hattie (Hinz) Jensen. Juanita was born and raised in Six Lakes, where she attended the Almy School and then Lakeview High School, graduating with the class of 1942. She met Lloyd "Jim" Schwandt in high school and they were married on March 22, 1946 after Jim returned from serving in the Army during WWII. Family was first and foremost, everything to Juanita. She lived to keep her husband happy, and spent time with him everyday at the hospital. She liked to make every birthday, holiday or other special occasion into a family celebration. Juanita enjoyed traveling, playing golf and cards, doing yard work and gardening. She was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lakeview.
Juanita is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, Lloyd "Jim" Schwandt; her children, Penny (James White) Schwandt of Grand Rapids, Steve (Denise) Schwandt of Six Lakes, and Mark (Terri Kain) Schwandt of Six Lakes; grandchildren, John (Marianne) Schwandt, Chris (Jennifer) Schwandt, Becky (Paul) Polaski, Kevin (Samantha) Schwandt, and Ronald Schwandt; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Hattie Jensen; one brother, Carl Jensen and an infant sister, Winona.
Funeral Services for Juanita will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Alexander Sabol officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, August 9 at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Lakeview and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Church. Those wishing to contribute in Juanita's memory are asked to consider Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
