Juanita Joy Stokely's Obituary
Lakeview - Juanita Joy Stokely, age 94, of Lakeview passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Americana Seniors in Clare. She was born, the daughter of Alton and Mable (Peabody) Galloup on December 27, 1927, in Sheridan where she was also raised. Juanita graduated from Sheridan Public Schools in 1946 and was married later that year to Lawrence Donald Maxfield. She helped on the family farm and in later years was employed by Leppinks and Wolverine Worldwide. Juanita enjoyed sewing, camping, gardening, going to the casino and bus trips with her cousin, friend and niece. She loved reading, and spending time with her family. Juanita was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW post 3701 Women's Auxiliary. Juanita will forever be missed and is survived by her sons, Michael John Maxfield Sr., and Mark Lawrence (Teresa) Maxfield both of Lakeview; 5 grandchildren, Michael John (Carrie) Maxfield Jr., Clarissa (Roy) Lakusta, Bethany Maxfield, Christopher Maxfield, Daniel (Talisa) Maxfield; 6 great-grandchildren, Ethan Clements, Cayden Griffin, Chase Lakusta, Ariella Maxfield, Aaron Maxfield, and Claire Maxfield. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Maxfield and John Stokely Sr.; her parents, Alton and Mable; a granddaughter, Karen Maxfield; and her siblings, Alton "Pete" Duane Galloup, Richard "Dick" Galloup, and Darleana McDaniel. Funeral Services for Juanita will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Roger Cooper officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be at the Chase Township Cemetery.
