Judy Marie Gantzer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Big Rapids Fields Assisted Living and Memory Care. She was 82 years old.
She was born on June 22, 1943, in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Thomas and Winifred (Hodge) Andrews. She spent her career as an accountant, retiring from PNC Bank, where she was known for her dedication and quiet professionalism.
Judy had a deep appreciation for the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved her cats, gardening, spending time in nature, camping, swimming and being by the lake. She enjoyed playing the piano, creating beaded jewelry, ornaments and artwork, often finding joy in quiet moments. She was fond of her family and friends, attending theater and concert performances, and spending time with them through walks, visits, crafting, and gardening sessions. Judy was a giving, caring person who valued kindness and thoughtfulness in all she did.
Family meant everything to Judy. She was a constant source of support and encouragement and was especially proud of her grandson. She loved attending the annual family reunion and being able to catch up with extended family each summer.
She is survived by her son, Martin (Debbie) Gantzer; grandson, Andrew (Nicole Waldvogel) Gantzer; sister, Norma “Christie” Miller; brothers, Tom Andrews and David (Judy) Andrews; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Norm Miller; niece, Lori
Andrews; nephew, Tom Andrews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins for whom she had fond memories.
In keeping with Judy’s wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes spread in Lake Superior where she found beauty and happiness through the years. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
