One day, before Jude and I were married, we were at the civilian shooting range in Hubert NC. I had given her an old British Webley revolver converted to .45 acp that she loved to shoot. She always said that it was"right on" for her, and the vast majority of the time it was. She was shooting at bowling pins at 10 yards at the time, when we had a freak ricochet off of a bowling pin. She had hit it directly on the neck of the pin, which is the most solid part. I was standing beside her. It came back at me slow enough that I could actually see it, but fast enough that I didn't have time to duck. It hit me just above the left eye, leaving 1" gash. My trip to the Navy Hospital is a whole nuther story, but before we left the range I found the offending round and later on mounted it on a plaque with the words... This .45 round was fired by Judy Droster. It bounced off the head of her fiancée, Bill Wood. He still married her. NOW THATS LOVE! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
